Well, look who overslept! Root ginger is gone, my first thought was a dry cat turd, but I can't imagine you taking a photo of one?
Secondly, I'm gonna say moth balls. No idea what they look like, but I think they should look like this.
And my 3rd guess is gonna be...
sweet potato or yams.

I've no idea about the difference. Hubby just said Sweet potatoes are potatos and yams are tubers. Not sure quite what that means though?
Lunch was lunch, but a good catch up with too rarely seen friends.
Didn't know moths had testes, never really paid that much attention as when I see a moth indoors I'm usually too busy with a slipper trying to flatten it. Can't stand the damn creatures and theres not much to examine afterwards!

Mmm, looks like the way wholemeal rolls would turn out if I tried to make them, and if they're rock hard, then they would be exactly like my wholemeal rolls. I'm going for that, or mushrooms of some sort (I've not had breakfast yet so my thoughts may be being hijacked! ) Where's that bacon....

No! You swine[eater]! Mmmmm, was it nice? Butter dripping too? Smoked? Crispy? Mmmmm. And a nice cup of tea to finish!
I had a few Taste the difference All butter mature Cheddar crispy thins - that'll have to do for now, serves me right for being so lazy, but saying that, they are rather scrumptious!
So animal, vegetable or mineral Usky? Any clues???

We had some rather good pies from Sainbury's today, 'reduced' to £1.50 each . A beef burgundy and a chicken and mushroom. They were both pretty good, along the lines of Pie Minister pies.
What culinary delight are you serving up tonight Uskers?

Pro I produced a kind of paella last night... when I was making a proper one mid-week I had this idea for a variation on a theme. Turned out to pretty damn good too, even if I do say so myself.

Salmon in sauce with asparagus and new spuds we're having today. I'm not doing very well with a hoped for return to veganism. Soon, soon!

Pro I wanted something very Mediterranean looking and full of flavour, so used chorizo, peppers and tomatoes for flavour and cubed chicken breast... worked out really rather well.
Lamb shanks today... cooked very slowly with lots of garlic... yummy! I could never go vegan...

It was cod as it turned out! But still enjoyed. How'd those lamb shanks come out?
