Once again La Spice sees right through my weekend's teaser within minutes of it being posted: I really must try harder!

A bee gathering pollen...
Congratulations Spicy: the prize draw is open.
The caviar's on one of these Whirlygig (I think!) plants.
If you happy to know the real plant name, I'd be happy to share that information. ![]()
It is? Oh silly me, of course it is. ![]()
Believe me, were it actual caviar I'd have eaten it! ![]()
I was thinking of adding a couple of Sterlets to my pond: close relations to the sturgeon, but only grow to about one metre in length...
Sorry to butt in - I think it might be an Osteospernum.
Right I'll buzz of now ![]()
No indeed, but in by all means, you're most welcome. ![]()
So what's an Osteospernum when one's at home? And just don't say it's one of those flower things in my piccy...
Scientific Name Osteospermum hyoseroides
Common Name Sun Daisy
Conditions Full Sun
Size 2 feet
Blooms In Summer
In other words one of those flower things in your piccy ![]()
Well there we have it: good work! ![]()
Not sure about the 2 feet bit though, since the one in my border must spread at least 3 feet wide...
Bragging again! ![]()
Damn it; have you been perving at my bathroom window again?
Just choosing my prize
Get 'em while they're hot!
Wouldn't you need a deep pond for any form of caviar life?
BTW did you know you have a black space, rectangular in form rather than round in nature, where you might usually have a 'friends group' detail? (Perhaps it's intentional...)
I quite like the streamlined cream colour of this site skin with purple print boxes.
My pond has a depth close to four feet deep at its deepest, which will do for me (and a couple of sterlets should I invest). I wouldn't really expect them to breed of course, but you never know...
There's not supposed to be any supplementary detail in this blog skin, except history, syndication and subscription; I deliberately left everything else out when I designed it. I'm a tad confused if you're seeing a black space that shouldn't be there, unless those Blog Bugs are back again.
Sounds like you have a dual purpose water feature - a pond and a paddling pool.
Yep, 'fraid you have got a black space - it's still here.
At something over 2,500 gallons, it felt like I was digging a damn swimming pool!
Well I'm lost: where is this black space?
This is what I'm seeing and indeed it's how it should appear screen dump.
Below 'subscribe by email' there's a yawning, gaping black doorway. It doesn't look like a border, it appears to be a space without use. Up to 'subscribe' etc. the site looks like your screen dump.
Ah! Yes that's the screen background colour - I can't remember the exact reference off the top of my head, but it's very dark grey/green mix.
The important part of this blog is the main pane to the right and I deliberately truncated the left pane to just hold the history, syndication and subscription details. It's a design thing... ![]()
Grey/green - looks like the colour palette went too dark - it's a black gap. Marble-isation would look very interesting with purple veins. It would really set off the main pane. Personally, I find the black bit rather distracting.
Even better, pull the top pane across to cover the background black; that would be really sharp.
Well one day maybe, when I'm bored and with nothing better to do... ![]()
Horse blinkers; the only answer for my odd foray into your domain ![]()
Oh don't go talking to me about blinking horses....
No - rest assured I won't talk to you about blinking horses, just their blinkers.
I wonder if they'd work for keeping the light out of my eyes?
The obvious answer is - try it! ![]()
Didn't seem to help me sleep, so maybe I'll mark that idea down as a failure... ![]()
If masks don't do the job for you, neither will blinkers.
A sharp blow to the back of the head might help...
I think at this point, silence is the better of the arts. ![]()
Golden, in fact. ![]()

Where did you get the caviar from? One busy bee is getting a right royal feed.
